Dr. Lotfi Zadeh was the chair of UC Berkeley's highly respected department of electrical engineering and computer science. Dr. Zadeh co-authored the first book on linear systems theory in 1963, which immediately became a standard text for every engineering school. His prestige in the scientific community was sealed with this publication. However he is more well known as the father of the well-established fuzzy logic approach to engineering.
